Once modeling revolved around notions of stereotypical glamour and age-old definition of what modeling was perceived in its initial days. But, as genre of photography and creativity expanded, so did the boundary of modeling. Often photographers and models prefer to keep it minimal yet classy. I was actively involved in fashion modeling until I took an equal interest in artistic shoots. This kind of shoots is intense experimentation with art. No make-up, no hair do, no style, still a model thrives onscreen with utmost charisma. Expression shots, body shots are the various dimensions of art-oriented shoots.
We play with colors, expressions, poses-it's all about feel. More than a conscious approach for the shots, it is more about letting ourselves lose in the craze of art. Artistic shoots are possibly the best way to celebrate oneself. We boast ourselves the way we are, let ourselves engulf in the magnetism of going 'natural'.
Creative shoots require presence of both an actor and model in an individual to provide the ultimate impact within an image. People are welcome to judge it, but artistes call it artistic madness. Equally popular is high fashion in modern context. If I reflect upon high fashion, it is to some extent sashaying the runway with extreme art combined with top brands. The highness of high fashion surely explores high level of artistic capacity. There is a difference though, between an artistic shoot within the studio and high fashion on the ramp. Both are representing the vigor of art but in its own way. Exploration of art in a studio-specific environment is more about unleashing the minute charm of an artiste- it is about experimenting with the subtle aspects of a model, which would have otherwise remained unexplored. On the other end, high fashion is more about playing with extremes and wildness. It is more about the splurge of international feel. Here, being natural has no place, it goes sans natural. The peak of wildness is rampant in depiction of high fashion. What I am referring to at the moment is about the presentation of models in high fashion so as to draw a vivid view of major artwork in the world of modeling.
