Hello

a bit about me

Diya

"Fashion is freedom. An art to explore. Self-driven and my strength to conquer the world"

DiyaRage.com strives to touch souls of all fashion idolizer. Modelling is just the perfect way to brandish the sense of individual style. Being an ardent lover of flying through the cloud, my experience suggests that models have developed a stereotypical image regardless of boundaries, culture and mindset. Tough as always to manage both journalism and modeling together, the challenge is worth it.

Being a good artiste is beyond good looks

Debate over what should comprise the characteristics of a good artiste remains a subject of much controversy even today. I will stick to the arena of models and actors in this blog. Pretty face, magical eyes, scintillating smile were some of the much desired aspects for the entertainment industry at some point of time. Even today I come across many people who think it is mandatory to have a beautiful face for appealing to the audience. But, what is being beautiful? Good looks and beauty are terms that can't be restrained within certain limits. We all have our individual perception about who can be called beautiful. I personally feel, an artiste creates an aura of fantasy for the audience, so the biggest quality that should be present among them is the ability to captivate and enchant the mind of the audience. Intelligence, sensuous appeal, charisma are certainly some of the best aspects required of any artiste. Moreover, the kind of entertainment works that are being made now deserves more of brainy work than solely focus on a pretty face and nothing else.

Artistic Highness

Once modeling revolved around notions of stereotypical glamour and age-old definition of what modeling was perceived in its initial days. But, as genre of photography and creativity expanded, so did the boundary of modeling. Often photographers and models prefer to keep it minimal yet classy. I was actively involved in fashion modeling until I took an equal interest in artistic shoots. This kind of shoots is intense experimentation with art. No make-up, no hair do, no style, still a model thrives onscreen with utmost charisma. Expression shots, body shots are the various dimensions of art-oriented shoots.

Style is Ageless

Style never gets thwarted by the tantrums of biological aging. Struggled-fought-lived but never wish to surrender my style to the evident results of aging. Am not trying to be unrealistic though. We all age; that's the norm and rule of nature but that doesn't give precedence to be boggled down by the burdens of frailty. Emotions do run high; coping up with frequent savage phases of life doesn't give us ample chance to pamper ourselves all the time. But, I have always felt, poised aging is more about how we control our mind. And our mind should control our body.

Modelling and stereotypes

I believe, modelling is just the best way to bringforth ones persona; an individual's affinity towards fashion- an aura to express their individual take on style. We all pose in front of the camera, we love to adorn ourselves, we love to be noticed by people and wait for comments to pour in. so doesn't that mean we all have a model hidden among each of us? Unfortunately, ever since the boom of modelling industry, it didn't get the respect that it deserved. Models slog for hours- brunt under the sun- smothered by lights-still; they are stereotyped as 'wannabe's with no fixed goal.

Redefining size zero: I AM HEALTHY SIZE ZERO

Misconceptions about healthy living have several implications. It leads to unhealthy lifestyle and ultimately deteriorating health. In order to attain the perfect body, many succumb to the option of starving. Few years back the trend was to flaunt size zero. So, what exactly is size zero? No one actually had any clear idea. But, all started starving to the effect of falling terribly sick, fainting and dilapidated health conditions. This was noted especially among teenagers. In this blog, I intend to discuss various topics related to human health. I am size zero but I do not starve. I follow a healthy diet that is immensely important given the stressful lifestyle that we have to deal with in modern times. Firstly, there is nothing called a perfect body. Perfection is in itself an illusion.

Why compete with men?

I don't compete with men. I compete with myself- to make myself better everyday- personally as an individual and professionally as well. I take pride being a girl and do not really understand the emphasis on gender roles. I am independent- take my own decisions- make my own choices. The persistent comparison between male and female doesn't make any sense to me- we all shall respectfully survive. There are many angles to argument on gender equality and feminism. Do we actually have a clear idea about these concepts? Often, we confuse the notion of feminism as a stance against men; many assume that it is about hating men. But, that's absolutely wrong. Feminism and gender equality are an attempt to empower women. It is a fight for the rights of women that remain violated even to this date. Women have reached heights of success- they are multitasking personal and professional life with panache.

I live Art, I breathe Art

Not a trained model though, but I certainly knew that modelling is what I will end up with. My transition from journalism to modelling may be sudden but my respect for style and the modelling industry has been persistent. I always had high regard for this industry. Modelling is one of the best forms of exploring art and oneself. I always felt art can never be taught- either you have it or you don't. Of course, there are ways to groom oneself and learn from ongoing trend but trends are more of copy-paste culture rather than exploring oneself or modelling as an art itself.

Where goes the trophy.... pose or expression?

Overemphasis on posing is often detrimental to expression and creativity. You may agree or you won't but I am sharing this thought through my own experience in modelling. Like any layman, initially I used to think modelling is all about pose, but as I involve deeper into this profession, I realize that modelling is much more thanjust posing. It has a deeper story to tell. As I focused solely on poses I realized that I am distracting myself from proper expressions. I have seen many models that focus solely on pose and goes haywire the expression. What I understood in my sojourn into the world of modelling is that proper expression can enhance posing but not vice versa (unless it is an advertisement).
